Structural Engineer II
Atlanta, GA
SE Group is looking for a mid-level structural engineer to join our Atlanta office. You will work directly alongside principal engineers on commercial and institutional building projects - contributing to design development, analysis, and construction documentation from day one.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural analysis models and perform load calculations for new construction and renovation projects
- Produce and coordinate construction documents including plans, details, and specifications
- Respond to RFIs and support construction administration through project close-out
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors during all project phases
- Contribute to condition assessments and forensic evaluations on existing buildings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred
- 3-6 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment
- EIT certification required; P.E. license preferred or actively pursuing
- Proficiency in ETABS, RAM Structural System, or equivalent analysis software
- Experience with commercial, retail, or institutional building typologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Forensic Engineer / Project Manager
Los Angeles, CA or Phoenix, AZ
We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead condition assessments, forensic investigations, and compliance evaluations across our western region offices. This role requires independent judgment, strong client communication, and technical depth in existing building systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead field investigations, condition assessments, and forensic evaluations on existing commercial and institutional facilities
- Prepare clear, defensible technical reports for clients, legal teams, and code authorities
- Manage project scope, budget, and schedule across multiple concurrent assignments
- Coordinate with local building departments on structural compliance and remediation plans
- Support business development efforts through client presentations and proposal writing
- Mentor junior engineers on field documentation and reporting standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's or S.E. designation strongly preferred
- 7+ years of experience with an emphasis on forensic investigations, assessments, or building envelope consulting
- P.E. license required; California or Arizona registration preferred
- Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, and state-specific structural compliance requirements
- Experience with seismic evaluation methodologies (ASCE 41) is a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and client relationships independently
