Overview
SE Group provides structural engineering services supporting Home Depot’s national development and expansion program, including both ground-up store construction and Tool Rental Center (TRC) expansions across multiple regions of the United States.
Since the firm’s inception, SE Group has delivered structural design services for 40+ Home Depot locations across 16 states, working with national retail architects and development teams to implement prototype store designs while adapting structural systems to site-specific conditions.
The work spans new store construction, structural modifications to existing stores, and rollout of the Home Depot Tool Rental Center expansion program across the national portfolio.
Scope of Structural Engineering
SE Group provides structural engineering services for both new store development and modifications to existing retail facilities, including prototype adaptation and site-specific structural design.
Typical scope includes:
- Structural design for large-format retail buildings
- Tilt-up concrete wall systems and foundations
- Long-span roof framing systems
- Structural support for garden centers and exterior canopies
- Structural modifications for Tool Rental Center expansions
- Structural support for rooftop mechanical equipment and platforms
- Coordination with architectural, civil, and MEP design teams
For ground-up stores, SE Group develops structural construction documents including foundation plans, roof framing plans, structural elevations, details, and calculation packages through permit issuance.
